Everyone knows the 3 R’s Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!!! I do not know about you but it is getting more difficult to recycle all those glass jars that your food comes in since our local recycling centers are no longer accepting them. So I needed to come up with a way to repurpose some of this ‘garbage’.
SO I tried to reusing on a whelm. I got Rust-Oleum Copper Spray Paint for any ‘reuse’ projects I might come across. It was trial by error though. The pasta jar could not hold a faux flower like I had hoped. However, when I was rummaging thru the glass box I saw a Frank’s Red Hot. It turned out really well!. The copper brings out the fall colors in the faux flowers.
Creating a Vase by Reusing a Glass Jar
I am going to buy bright spray paint next and the pickle and salsa jars are going to turn into storage containers for my girls. I will upload a picture when that happens. Probably soon!! I’m thinking the short round ones can be Barbie and LOL accessories and maybe the pasta jars can be storage for pencils etc.
But once I find the right greenery I am going to reuse these jars for a Christmas centerpiece. I am so excited. It takes mins to spray paint and if you mess up you are NOT out a lot of money or time! I love that type of DIY. It is more ‘fun’ creating when your are not concerned about whether you are wasting or ruining an expensive product.
